What makes a boat party different to a venue party?

A cruise has no side rooms and no early exits: once the boat leaves the dock, every guest is at the party until it docks again. Get the music right and you own the entire night. That takes a DJ who can carry the whole vessel for the whole sailing, working the deck layout, the weather call and the moment the skyline lights up.

We know the format from the water. We have carried a Sydney corporate cruise for around 220 guests, and harbourside rooms like The Squire's Landing, where we played Macquarie Bank's 600-guest end-of-year party. Compact rigs, marine power, tight bump-in windows: your event manager locks all of it in with the charter operator before you board.

Star DJ Hire supplies corporate boat party and harbour cruise DJs Australia-wide, covering Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra. We packed the deck on a Sydney Harbour corporate cruise for around 220 guests. Every booking includes a professional DJ, a marine-ready compact rig and a dedicated event manager. Charter fleets are finite, so request a fast quote today.

What we cover

What do we cover on the water?

From a lunchtime cruise to a night sailing, we build the set to the format:

Corporate harbour cruises

Full-vessel entertainment for staff and client sailings, proven on our Sydney Harbour cruise for around 220 guests.

Christmas and EOFY cruises

The end-of-year party with a skyline. Peak-season sailings book out first, so move early.

Client entertainment sailings

Polished, conversation-first sets that impress VIP guests without drowning the conversation.

Day cruises and lunches

Daytime sets that start relaxed and build the deck as the sailing goes on.

Multi-deck parties

Sound planned deck by deck: the dancefloor pumps and the quiet deck stays quiet.

Inclusions

What's included in a boat party DJ package?

One booking, one marine-ready package, nothing left on the wharf:

  • A compact rig sized to the boat, planned around marine power.

  • Coordination with the charter operator on bump-in, power and safety requirements.

  • Sound planned to the vessel's layout and licensing conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you bring your own equipment onto the boat? +
Yes, a compact rig sized to the vessel and planned around its power supply. Your event manager confirms the technical details with the charter operator in advance, including bump-in times at the wharf, so boarding day runs to the minute.
How do you handle sound across multiple decks? +
Deliberately. We position sound so the party deck has full energy while other decks stay conversational, and we work within the operator's licensing conditions on the water. The layout is planned from the vessel's deck plan before the sailing.
What if the weather turns? +
The operator makes the sailing call, and we adapt with them: covered-deck setups, adjusted positions or a revised run sheet. Our gear and our DJs have done enough sailings to handle a change of plan calmly.
When should we book a corporate cruise DJ? +
Earlier than a venue party. Charter fleets are finite and the best vessels are gone months out for November, December and EOFY sailings. Lock the boat and the DJ together as early as you can, and the rest of the planning falls into place.
What does a boat party DJ cost? +
It depends on the sailing length, the vessel and the rig it needs. Every quote covers the DJ, marine-ready equipment, operator coordination and a dedicated event manager, with no add-ons hiding below deck. Send the charter details and we will turn a quote around fast.
