The brief

What They Wanted

The company needed a corporate DJ at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for around 40 guests across an autumn evening, an intimate gathering inside one of Brisbane's biggest venues. With formal awards and speeches in the room, the timing and venue AV had to be spot on, and the music, current hits, RnB and house, needed to match a younger, upbeat crowd.

Our process

How We Planned It

This is where our planning process kicks in. Their dedicated event manager talked through the run sheet and the moments that mattered; liaised with Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on bump-in, power and finish times; and locked in sound check, stage times and AV hand-over with the in-house team, which is standard practice for us at large convention venues. Then we matched the DJ best suited to the room and confirmed the run of the night well in advance.

On the night

What We Delivered

On the night, we delivered our DJ on controller and decks, dovetailed with the venue's in-house sound and lighting and checked well before doors opened. Our DJ worked current hits, RnB/hip-hop and house into one seamless set, keeping the volume and energy right-sized for the room. With around 40 guests, the night felt personal rather than lost in the space, and the floor stayed busy from the first song to the last.
