Brisbane inclusive wedding at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron
A real Star DJ Hire booking: what the client wanted, and how we made it happen.
What They Wanted
For their autumn reception at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Brisbane, the couple wanted a DJ who could carry the whole night for around 60 guests, doubling as MC so the announcements sat with the person controlling the music. Above all they wanted an inclusive, easy-going floor that everyone felt part of, with a soundtrack spanning 70s/80s, 90s/00s, current hits and even medieval folk rock.
How We Planned It
Before the night, your dedicated event manager gets to work. We talked through the run sheet and the moments that mattered; mapped the key formalities, grand entrance, first dance and speeches; folded their must-play and do-not-play lists into the plan, medieval folk rock included; and liaised with Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron on bump-in, power and finish times. We matched the right DJ to a wonderfully eclectic brief and locked everything in during the week of the event.
What We Delivered
Come event day, we rolled in with the full rig, PA, lighting, wireless microphones and backup gear, loaded in and sound-checked well before anyone walked in. Our DJ mixed 70s/80s, 90s/00s, current hits and, yes, medieval folk rock into one seamless set, doubling as MC to keep the announcements sharp and the energy up. With around 60 guests in the room, the dancefloor filled early and stayed full to the very last song.
